We’ve all heard the phrase, “No two snow flakes are alike.” This can easily be applied to all 35 cities found in Dade County. Each city has events that it is known for. Ah, beautiful Miami; you have you’re typical south beach club head, then you have your more sophisticated downtown Miami club goer, and of course the classy hipster that only comes out at night if the art is right.
Let me take you to Miami’s very own design and art districts which have quite a knack for drawing in tourists from far and wide to share their love of art, fashion, and music. It’s a beautiful thing when people go out of their way to celebrate self expression.   Traverse to a place somewhat unreal where your imagination can run rampant. Just over the Venetian Causeway, West of Biscayne Blvd, in the heart of Wynwood amongst warehouses and the ever so popular Wynwood Walls you’ll find what is known as Wynwood Art Walk. This is where “hipsters” and art collectors unite. The city life moves fast and each month creeps up on you a little quicker than the last. Held the second Saturday of every month, come out to this artsy block party of epic proportions that stretches from NW 23rd street to NW 29th. I can’t think of a better way to “waste” my Saturday night than to bombard my brain with art. And not just Miami’s widely known street art/graffiti but art from the guy next door who just enjoys creating to pass the time to the well known artist who exhibits art all over the world . This is basically art collector heaven. Wynwood Art Walk is a showcase of galleries that exhibit and promote contemporary visual art such as paintings, sculptures, installations, photography, multimedia, and ceramics. As I arrive to the busy streets where this outdoor soiree is held the energy is explosive. Just walking into Wynwood Walls takes me to another world where OBEY and black lights reign and i never want to leave. The inhabitants of this world are so full of life, intriguing, and eclectic as the day is long. Get too drunk and lose your friends whilst looking at art? No worries, Just mosey on down the street, purchase some of the street vendors infamous grilled cheese sandwiches and pick up a new group of friends along the way. The night is young. With private parties, open bars (if you know where to look) and live music along with breath taking street art and galleries; expect nothing short of a good time. There’s never a dull moment due to the chances of stumbling upon drunk interesting people who are there for the same reason as you. To experience the unique art and beauty that you probably will not be able to find anywhere else but in the one and only Miami Dade County.
